Released a few months after Magento (in July 2008), PrestaShop is a French e-commerce solution that quickly won over a large number of users thanks to its easy implementation and its complete alignment with the needs of e-merchants, which have since established strong ties with the product (125,000 websites worldwide use the solution).
From a functional perspective, PrestaShop has also proven to be quite complete: in terms of catalogues, account management, orders, logistics and reporting, all the functionalities of an e-commerce platform are covered. The tool even includes native management of functions like shop locators, SMS alerts and customer rewards programmes. And if that were not enough, nearly a thousand ready to use modules are also available.
PrestaShop is distributed under the OSL.
PrestaShop is 100% developed in PHP/MySQL. It has an API and provides complete web service cover, which makes it possible to adjust the tool to meet new needs and specific contexts.

“ Bonjour, Utilisateur de la Creload 6.2 (OS Commerce) j'ai souhaité rajeunir mon site (datait de 1997) en passant cette année à Presta Shop 1.6.2. Quelle déception, je me retrouve à la tête d'un site qui dès que vous voulez être plus pointu sur des solutions basiques ne peut le faire sans ajouter régulièrement un addon pour ceci un addon pour cela Que de temps perdu pour ajouter un nouveau produit, l'ergonomie a été faites par des bidouilleurs. A NE PAS RECOMMANDER. Je regrette OS Commerce. ”

“ Prestashop est un CMS e-commerce populaire destiné à un public large. Par contre, Prestashop est très mal codé et fédère une communauté de bidouilleurs. Ne cherchez pas la qualité, un projet Prestashop c'est du one shoot en mode "On fait ce que l'on peut". ”

“ Service après vente catastrophique. pas de support pas de réponse au ticket ouvert ou au appel téléphoniques. Soit vous êtes patient (attente de plusieurs semaines pour une reponse) soit vous savez faire vous même. Il est sur que Presta shop à de nombreux avantages (module, design, facilité), mais en cas de problème le service après ventes est inexistant. ”
