Redmine is a collaborative tool used to manage projects via a secure web interface. It was created by Jean-Philippe Lang in 2006.

Redmine offers the following functionalities:

  •     secure multi-project management;
  •     user, profile and rights management, depending on the project;
  •     document management, classification by category, owner, title, date, etc.;
  •     management of requests, their status, their priority and their history, and assignment of requests to the relevant project participants;
  •     project status views in the form of a Gantt diagram;
  •     email and RSS feed notifications;
  •     etc.

Redmine is distributed under the GPL v2.
It was developed in Ruby on the basis of the Ruby on Rails framework.

“ C'est l'une des solutions que je recommande pour la gestion des projets. Elle pourrait être adaptée à plusieurs types d'utilisation. Une application extensible. Elle est mieux que certaines applications commerciales. Il faut juste savoir l'utiliser. ”
